Journal Description

Majalah Kedokteran Bandung (MKB) is a peer-reviewed, open-access medical journal that focuses on advancing research in tropical medicine, infectious diseases, and biomedical sciences. Published quarterly, the journal serves as a platform for disseminating high-quality scientific work with strong clinical and translational relevance. It aims to bridge the gap between experimental research and real-world medical practice, particularly in regions affected by tropical and subtropical health challenges.

The journal emphasizes impactful and context-relevant research, especially for low- and middle-income countries where infectious diseases and resource limitations remain critical concerns. By maintaining rigorous peer-review standards and selective publication policies, including limited acceptance of case reports, MKB ensures the publication of clinically meaningful and scientifically robust contributions that support healthcare improvement and medical knowledge.

Aims and Scope

The primary aim of Majalah Kedokteran Bandung is to promote research that enhances understanding, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases prevalent in tropical and subtropical regions. The journal prioritizes studies with translational value, encouraging research that connects laboratory findings with clinical applications and public health outcomes. It seeks to contribute to evidence-based medical practices and improve healthcare delivery, particularly in resource-constrained environments.

The scope of the journal includes a wide range of topics such as infectious and tropical diseases (including emerging infections, antimicrobial resistance, tuberculosis, dengue, and zoonoses), experimental biomedical research involving natural products and bioactive compounds, and clinical and translational medicine. It also covers public health, epidemiology, and behavioral medicine, focusing on disease prevention and community health. By supporting interdisciplinary and applied research, MKB aims to address pressing global health challenges and advance medical science in diverse settings.
