About the Journal
The Journal of Pharmaceutical Negative Results (JPNR) (ISSN: Print 0976-9234; Online 2229-7723) is a peer-reviewed, biannual scientific journal dedicated to publishing original and innovative research that reports negative, null, or inconclusive findings in pharmaceutical sciences. As an official publication of the Association of Indian Pharmacists (AIP) and published by ResearchTrentz, the journal provides a unique and essential platform for addressing research outcomes that are often underreported despite their high scientific value. JPNR promotes transparency and completeness in scientific communication by highlighting studies where hypotheses were not confirmed or expected outcomes were not achieved.
The journal welcomes both theoretical and empirical research and encourages submissions that challenge established assumptions or previously published results. By prioritizing rigorously conducted studies with negative outcomes, JPNR aims to reduce publication bias, prevent duplication of unsuccessful approaches, and support evidence-based decision-making in pharmaceutical research and development. The journal is widely abstracted and indexed in major international databases, ensuring global visibility and accessibility for published work.
Focus and Scope
The Journal of Pharmaceutical Negative Results focuses on all areas of pharmaceutical sciences where research yields negative or unexpected results. This includes pharmacology, pharmaceutics, toxicology, drug discovery, formulation science, clinical pharmacy, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and regulatory science. Studies reporting lack of efficacy, failed formulations, adverse outcomes, unsuccessful clinical or preclinical trials, and contradictory experimental findings are particularly encouraged, provided they are methodologically sound and scientifically robust.
In addition, the journal welcomes short communications and methodological papers that present counter-examples to widely accepted hypotheses, models, or published studies. Submissions employing diverse theoretical frameworks, experimental designs, and analytical methods are encouraged. By embracing negative findings as a vital component of scientific progress, JPNR aims to strengthen research integrity, promote reproducibility, and contribute to a more balanced and realistic understanding of pharmaceutical science.
