Description

The Pakistan Journal of Medical Sciences (PJMS) is a peer-reviewed medical journal that has been published regularly since 1984. Formerly known as The Specialist until 1999, PJMS serves as one of Pakistan’s leading platforms for disseminating medical knowledge and research. It publishes original research articles, review papers, current medical practices, short communications, and case reports. Over the years, PJMS has earned recognition for attracting manuscripts from both national and international researchers, representing contributions from over fifty countries worldwide.

Scope of the Journal

PJMS aims to promote excellence in medical science by publishing high-quality, evidence-based research covering a broad spectrum of medical disciplines. The journal provides a forum for healthcare professionals, clinicians, and researchers to share scientific findings, clinical experiences, and advancements in medical practice. It upholds an independent editorial policy, encouraging open expression of scientific opinions and fostering critical discourse on contemporary healthcare issues. The journal welcomes submissions that contribute to improving clinical practice, healthcare policies, and medical education both within Pakistan and internationally.

PJMS is widely circulated in major medical libraries across Pakistan, South East Asia, and the Asia Pacific, including the WHO EMRO Region countries. Recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, the journal is indexed and abstracted in leading international databases such as the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), Web of Science, SCOPUS, Embase, and WHO IMEMR. With its commitment to academic integrity and quality publishing standards, PJMS continues to play a pivotal role in advancing medical research and facilitating global scientific collaboration.
