Interpersona: an International Journal on Personal Relationships is a peer-reviewed, open-access, semiannual academic journal dedicated to the scientific study of human relationships in all their forms, ranging from casual social ties to deep, intimate connections. Established in 2007, the journal promotes international collaboration and knowledge exchange by publishing research from diverse regions across the globe, reflecting a wide variety of cultural and societal contexts. It is supported by an international editorial board and aims to strengthen the global visibility of relationship research.

The journal has evolved over time to enhance accessibility and scholarly communication, including its transition to digital platforms and current publication under the Study Group on Assessment, Therapy and Emotions (GATE) in collaboration with Brazilian academic institutions. It adheres to high standards of editorial integrity and professional conduct, offering free and unrestricted access to its content, thereby supporting the global dissemination of scientific knowledge in the field of interpersonal relationships.

Aims and Scope

The primary aim of Interpersona is to advance interdisciplinary scholarship on interpersonal relationships by integrating perspectives from psychology, sociology, anthropology, communication studies, health sciences, economics, and related fields. The journal seeks to contribute to the development of an integrated science of relationships by encouraging empirical, theoretical, and methodological research that explores the formation, dynamics, and impacts of human connections across different contexts and cultures.

Its scope encompasses a broad spectrum of topics, including romantic and family relationships, friendships, workplace interactions, and community or societal ties. The journal also welcomes studies on the biological, psychological, social, cultural, economic, and technological dimensions of relationships, as well as their implications for health, education, organizations, and public life. By supporting diverse methodologies and interdisciplinary approaches, Interpersona aims to deepen understanding of how relationships shape individual well-being and social structures worldwide.
