Journal Description

Natural Resources for Human Health (NRFHH) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing research on natural resources and their applications in improving human health and well-being. Published quarterly in English, the journal provides a multidisciplinary platform for the dissemination of high-quality basic, translational, and applied research involving natural compounds derived from plants, algae, microorganisms, and animals. NRFHH encourages scientifically rigorous studies that emphasize mechanistic understanding, innovative methodologies, and evidence-based applications while promoting interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers in the life sciences.

Under the editorial leadership of Professor Kannan RR Rengasamy, the journal is committed to publishing impactful original research articles, comprehensive reviews, and emerging scientific findings that contribute to the sustainable utilization of natural resources for healthcare, nutrition, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. Operating under an open-access model with a Creative Commons license, NRFHH ensures the global accessibility and dissemination of scientific knowledge, supporting innovation and future research in natural product science and human health.

Focus and Scope

Natural Resources for Human Health welcomes original research articles, systematic reviews, review papers, and interdisciplinary studies that investigate the discovery, characterization, biological activities, and therapeutic applications of natural resources. The journal publishes research spanning biological sciences, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, agricultural and food sciences, and biotechnology, with a particular emphasis on evidence-based studies that explain the mechanisms of action, safety, efficacy, and clinical relevance of natural compounds. Descriptive studies without clear scientific hypotheses or mechanistic insights are generally discouraged.

The journal’s scope includes, but is not limited to, Natural Product Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Toxicology, Nutrition and Human Health, Therapeutics, Bioactive Compounds, Drug Discovery, Pharmaceutical Formulations, Quality Control and Analytical Methods, Biological Chemistry, Genomics, Conservation Biology, Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Food Technology, Food Safety, Nutraceuticals, Dietary Supplements, Cosmetics, Biopharmaceutical Sciences, Waste Valorization, Traditional Medicine, Ethnobotany, Ethnopharmacology, Microbial Biotechnology, and Natural Resource-Based Healthcare Innovations. The journal encourages innovative, multidisciplinary research that bridges laboratory discoveries with practical applications to promote sustainable health solutions and improve human well-being through the responsible use of natural resources.
